Brooklyn based fine art photographer, Rob Stephenson was awarded the 2011 Photo Urbanism fellowship for his project and book ‘From Roof to Table‘ where he spent one year visiting over hundreds urban farms and gardens throughout five boroughs in New York City.

Underlying this project was Rob’s passion about the presence of wilderness in cities and his interest in exploring the tension between the natural and built environments. His resulting photographs beautifully capture urban agriculture and the way it exists and functions in the New York City public realm. By sharing and documenting his experiences through the medium of photography, it presents access to others to view and visually discover sites, which would ordinarily remain unseen.
