What are you looking forward to seeing at Milan Design Week?

We always take pride in all of our collaborations, but this year we are particularly delighted with our collaboration with Herman Miller and Maharam. For the environmental installation Lines, Grid & Blocks we employed ‘Blocks and Grid’, our new woven textiles created in collaboration with Maharam, to transform select furniture pieces from the Herman Miller Collection. ‘Lines, Grid & Blocks’ is on view at the Herman Miller National Design Center at Corso Garibaldi 70 in Milan’s Brera district. Hope you like it!

Where will you definitely dine while in Milan?

‘Ristorante Piccolo Fumino’, Via dell’Aprica, 2, not far from Garibaldi, is a great place for dinner. It is a special restaurant run by two sisters who are fantastic cooks, and where the waiter still knows what his profession is all about! Ask for the fried baby courgette with flowers, and don’t forget to sample the desserts, they are simply delicious.‘

Best place for an espresso/quick bite?

Larte, centrally located at Via Manzoni 5, is not just a restaurant but also a café, chocolate shop, osteria and art and design gallery all at once. Our Solid Pattern Small Table 1 for Luce di Carrara is exhibited there. Enjoy!

What are some of the highlights of Design Week, in your opinion?

Spazio Rossana Orlandi, Via Matteo Bandello 14-16, selected by Rossana Orlandi herself and presented at her gallery, the place to see the latest designs and also enjoy a wonderfully relaxing moment during the hectic time of Design Week. It is a unique spot, not only because of its charm but also because of the superb choice of the latest products.

Triennale Design Museum, Viale Alemagna 6, with interesting exhibitions and a beautiful garden, an oasis in the middle of the rush and chaos of the Salone.

WHICH PARTICULAR EVENTS WILL YOU BE ATTENDING DURING DESIGN WEEK?

The famous T Magazine Party of The New York Time Style Magazine, not to be missed!

The Wallpaper* Handmade VIP Preview at Via San Gregorio 43, brings crafmanship and design from select designers, makers and manufacturers together. We are showing there two new projects, Grappa Flasks for Nonino Grappa and Blend for AMINI by ABC Italia.

And for sure one of these nights we will end up in Cocktail Bar Basso…
